August 7th found us in Lincoln, again with the fine people of HPI International and Central Valley Paranormal Searchers.
GPS led us astray at first, telling us that we needed to be in the middle of a large field where there clearly was no road. After a few minutes of driving back and forth and surveying our surroundings, other investigators began driving by, some just as confused as we were, but at least we knew were on the right road.
About a quarter mile further down this road, across a bridge over a creek, we found our destination and the reason why the GPS was so clearly wrong. The property was 165 acres. Here is a tip for anyone that relies on GPS: always remember that it will point you to the center of the parcel you’re trying to get to. Sometimes that center is in the middle of what appears to be an inaccessible pasture!
The investigation yielded some interesting evidence. First we chased down what sounded like rocks being slammed together, further and further down towards a tree line, never actually coming close enough to find the source before it ultimately just stopped altogether.
Another interesting thing we found was the sound of what could best be described as trickling water in what is believed to be an old miner’s ditch that runs down to the creek. The ground was completely dry and this sound could be heard no matter where you were in this old mining ditch. We were never able to find a definite cause for this sound so it is left unexplained.
The rest of the evening was uneventful but as always the fun is in the hunt and the company of the people you hunt with.
Until the next one, enjoy this episode.
